Jesus' Day
"Saturday—is most difficult of all, because it's the day between the promise and the fulfillment of the promise. Jesus had predicted he'd be crucified, and that he'd rise from the dead. He was dead all right. But would he come back?" - Bill Hybels
Holy Scriptures
Matthew 27:62-66
Jeremiah 29:11-14
Thoughts
On the Jewish day of rest, Jesus rested in the tomb. Can you imagine the thoughts of the disciples and those who heard Jesus teach as they were weeping and mourning? Traditionally Holy Saturday is a day of contemplation of what a life without Christ would be like. It is a time of weeping that lasts for the night while awaiting the joy that comes in the morning (Psa 30:5).

Reflection
Contemplate today how different life would be without the hope we find in the Risen Lord.
Are you completely putting your hope in Jesus? Or are you putting portions of your hope elsewhere - as though any other thing has more to offer?

Prayer of the Day
Ask God to be with you today in your day of waiting for celebration. Ask Him to be the Lord of your thoughts and your hope.
