Easter Sunday!

Jesus' Day
"On Sunday, Jesus burst forth from the tomb exactly as he'd predicted. The guards at the tomb saw him, went back to tell the officials, "He's alive!" and were paid to keep quiet about it.

Jesus appeared to more than 500 people—cynics as well as believers—before he ascended into heaven. There was no question about whether or not Jesus was resurrected." - Bill Hybels

Holy Scriptures
Psalm 98
Matthew 28
Mark 16
Luke 24
John 20, 21

Thought

Is it really surprising that from Jesus' greatest act of love, his greatest power would flow? The life of the Christian is not the imitation of a dead hero. The Christian lives in Christ and Christ lives in the Christian through the Holy Spirit. He is empowered to lead a new life where sin has no place. - Brennan Manning

"How often are Christians unwilling to believe that they have been transformed and that the impossible has become possible?" - John McKenzie

Reflection

How can we not lift our hands in praise today? How can we not rejoice with singing? How can we not smile when we think of what God has done for us? How can we walk away from the scriptures unmoved? How can today not be different from all other days?

Prayer of the Day
We praise you, O God! Your faithfulness is astounding. You made a way for us to appear blameless in your sight through the life, death and resurrection of your most holy son, Jesus. You have made a way for us to speak with you freely and to know you intimately. We praise You! May the praises of this day overflow to every day.
